Jamaica

Jamaica is a modern table hybrid grape variety bred by Viktor Mikhailovich Kalugin, which attracts attention with its large, bright berries, early ripening and rich muscat flavor. The variety is excellent for both personal consumption and for sale on the market due to its spectacular appearance. Main characteristics Purpose: table variety. Breeder: Kalugin V.M. Ripening period: early (approximately 105–115 days). Bush growth strength: vigorous. Flower: bisexual, self-pollinating. Vine ripening: very good. Frost resistance: up to –23 °C. Clusters and berries Clusters are large, beautiful, with an average weight of 700–1200 g, mostly of medium density. Berries are very large, elongated-oval in shape, weighing 15–20 g. In the phase of full ripeness, they acquire a rich red color, which gives the cluster a particularly attractive presentation. The pulp is dense, fleshy and pleasantly crispy. The skin is quite strong, but it is almost not felt during consumption. Taste qualities The taste is harmonious, sweet, with a pronounced nutmeg aroma. The combination of juicy crispy pulp and rich nutmeg makes the variety one of the most interesting among the early red forms. Advantages of the variety: early ripening; very large and beautiful berries; rich nutmeg taste; crispy fleshy pulp; large marketable clusters; vigorous bush; bisexual flower; good vine ripening; high yield; frost resistance to -23 °C.
